Hi, I'm Innocent.

Welcome to my corner of the internet.

Biography

I’m a technology leader, infrastructure lead, educator, and lifelong learner with over 20 years of experience designing, building, and modernizing enterprise technology environments. My work has spanned networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, infrastructure operations, virtualization, AI, and digital transformation — across industries including telecommunications, financial services, transportation, energy, government, and education.

Along the way, I’ve led teams, delivered large-scale infrastructure modernization programs, built secure and resilient systems, and helped bridge the gap between technical complexity and business value.

This blog exists to go beyond the diagrams, certifications, and project plans — sharing the practical lessons, technical discoveries, leadership insights, and the occasional “why didn’t anyone tell me this sooner?” moment that comes with working in technology.

Teaching & Mentoring

Beyond industry work, I’m passionate about teaching, mentoring, and developing future technology leaders. I’ve taught Economics for Business to multiple cohorts of MBA students through executive education programs, and served as a Teaching Assistant with Queen’s University’s Smith School of Business, supporting courses on AI productivity, emerging technologies, and practical applications of modern digital tools.

I believe technology shouldn’t be intimidating. I’ve found real purpose in simplifying complex technical concepts for semi-technical leaders, aspiring technologists, and junior IT professionals — translating complexity into knowledge people can confidently apply.

What I Write About

  • Networking & Infrastructure — enterprise networks, modern platforms, and the systems that keep everything running
  • Cloud & Virtualization — cloud platforms, hybrid environments, and virtualization at scale
  • Cybersecurity — zero trust architectures and practical security thinking
  • AI & Automation — AI tools, automation, and agentic workflows
  • Leadership, Career & Family Life — growing as a leader at work, delivering projects that matter, and the lessons that carry over at home
  • Hands-On Learning — home labs, experiments, and real-world lessons from the field

Why This Blog

My goal is simple: bridge the gap between theory and practice by making complex technology understandable, approachable, and useful. Whether you’re a technical leader trying to better understand the systems you oversee, a student beginning your technology journey, or an IT professional looking to deepen your knowledge — I hope you’ll find something here that helps you build confidence and keep learning.

Technology evolves quickly, but curiosity, critical thinking, and the willingness to keep learning never go out of style. Leadership doesn’t stop at the office door, either — the same patience and curiosity that help me lead a team show up just as much at home.

Thanks for stopping by — I hope you find something here that helps you build, learn, lead, or think differently.
